As dealers in five violins, violas, cellos, and bows we buy and sell instruments and bows in a wide range of prices. We specialize in and have a wide selection of fine-stringed instruments from Italy, France, England and Germany - We also offer antique instruments in fractional sizes.

Our expertise and certificates are thought after by musicians, collectors and colleagues of the trade.

Michael Franke has worked professionally for over 34 years. He was invited frequently as a specialist consultant to major music festivals in Europe. Through this work for leading players as Misha Maisky, Dmitry Sitkovetsky, Nigel Kennedy, Vladimir Mendelssohn, and Sergei Khachatryan, he learned to meet the high demands of top musicians in the world.

 

Curriculum Vitae

1969 - 72 Professional study in the Violin Making School in Mittenwald

1973 - 78 Professional training and internship at Lorand Racz and Willem Bouman in Den Haag Netherlands.

1980 - Master's degree in Mittenwald; Succeeded the shop from his father.

1984 - Photographic documentation of valuable instruments in own studio. Numerous publications.

1985 - Invited as violinmaker for Korsholm Music Festival, Finland

1986 - Appointed as Public Appraiser

1987 Founded: CREATIVE MUSIC PARTS

1988 Founded European Association of Violin and Bow Makers (AEL)

1997 - President of AEL

1998 Introducing endoscopy and microscopy in the workshop for expert work

2000 - Joint workshop with Heikki Joensuu in Vaasa, Finland

2004 - Jury at International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Making Competition

2008 - 2011 Exhibitions in Beijing, Shanghai, and Seoul, quality management in China

2013 Extended the service in Japan

2015 Extended the service and exhibition to Thailand

2016 Exhibition in Beijing and Shanghai

Andy Franke

Andreas Franke was born in Leipzig, Germany. He worked as an apprentice from 1995 to 1998 in his fathers workshop. In the year 1998, he emerged as a first prize winner in a competition amongst Germany. He received special training for bow repairing in all apprentice the in Sachsen, Jochen Schmidt's workshop in Dresden, Germany in 1999. From 2003 to 2005, he worked in Christine Erik's workshop in Vienna and at the end of 2005, he started to work in Orfeo Strings' workshop in Hong Kong.

 

He had worked with musicians from famous orchestras like Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, MDR Sinfonie Orchestra Leipzig, Wiener Wiener Philharmoniker, Berliner Philharmonie, Symphoniker and Hong Kong Philharmonic.
